MG MGA - Clutch stuck update

A few weeks ago, I posted a thread regarding a freinds car where the clutch was stuck in the disengaged position. You could have the engine running and select all the gears without using the clutch and without the car moving.

Thank you all for your helpful comments on the problem, some of which Barney has kindly posted on the Guru's website.

The problem has now been solved and it turned out to be a corroded slave cylinder, which appears to have allowed the clutch to be depressed once and then siezed preventing release of the clutch.

Simple once you know!
