MG MGA - Cold Air Intake
Some of the works cars had cold air intakes to the side of the main grill, to which the 4" hoses were attached. I understand that these originally were basically 4" tubes just welded into the body with a mesh mounted on the inside. However I have seen some cars that seem to have a fabricated tube with a flange that is bolted onto the front bodywork. Are these available from any of the normal spare sources or have people just fabricated them? I am aware of the more modern spun aluminium ones but somehow I don't think they would look right. Rod |

I assume that you are racing, as there would be no need to deface an MGA for the street - the stock cool air hose location behind the grill is fine for street. Even for racing, you can buy replacements for the headlight assembly that takes ducts. These are usually used for brakes, but could be ducted through the inner fender if you wanted. Either way, you shouldn't need to hack up the poor MGA, that is not unless that's what you want to do. |
