MG MGA - Container UK to Australia to share ?
I know chances are slim... But !!! I'm looking into sending an MGA back to Perth from UK and there would be space for another car if anyone is interested in splitting the cost. When I sent my personal effects they went via Sydney or Melbourne and then on by road anyway. Email me if your interested. Ideally it container would leave towards the end of August. Cheers <MARK> |

Mark If you fail to find anyone would it be worth your while buying a road running standard MGA roadster or perhaps an MG TC (square rigger) to fill the space with a view to selling on? Maybe if you buy from a dealer you would get the VAT (17.5%)back! Steve |

Steve, I've been exploring all the options. I sent my twin cam back about 6 months ago and although the shipping was about £1100, with all the taxes and insurance , fumigation, etc it cost me about £2500 landed... I have an 73 911TE on ebay at the moment and considered sending that back and selling it, but there's no profit in it. I've been told if I get the brakes to work, then they can tow it onto the normal car carriers, so I think I will have to get the brakes to work on this one first.... not been driven since before 1981, so could take some effort. Cheers <MARK> |

Mark, possibly interested as I want to bring in another Scimitar from the UK as a spares car. What costs are you expecting and when are you planning the import? Contact me at markmathiesen@hotmail.com |
