MG MGA - Crankshaft rear oil seal
Have any of you guys found a reliable rear crankshaft oil seal conversion kit? Thanks Colin |

Hi Colin Im having mine done at the moment by Don Loughlin in Kidderminster. Don is semi retired so it's run by Steve now. The rough cost is £250 for the whole job engine delivered to him. John |

There is a simpler solution for the rear seal. I don't have any personal experience with it but this is making the rounds here in the U.S. I tried to post the 3 pg. pdf instructions, but for some reason this site pulls in only the first page. I'd be happy to forward it via e-mail if anyone would like a full copy. Just send me a note to:
nixxone@optimum.net Additionally, Kent Prather (Prather Racing) has designed a rear seal kit, cost approx $220, which apparently makes the earlier seal solution easier to install. Kent can be contacted at: kprather@ksbroadband.net Nick |

Nick thanks for that info. The double O ring is a different idea! I will try to locate the O rings here in the UK and have a look at that. I have been in touch with Kent Prather. His kit seems to be the MGAguru idea. Colin |
