MG MGA - Cyl head #'s 1500/1600/1622
Are all the above heads the same and interchange? How does one tell them apart? I have a spare that has 15 cast in, does that mean it only fits a 1500 ? TTFN Sara |

a 15 head will fit 1500 and 1600. 1622 has different pistons, so needs either a 1622 head or an early 1800 head (search the acives or use these links http://www.mgbmga.com/tech/mgb25.htm http://www.flowspeed.com/cylinder-ident.htm I use the 12H1326 head on my 1622 engine - larger valves, better flow, easier to find than an A head. It has a larger chamber size which helps with reducing compressionratio problems on a supercharged engine. |

Thanks Dominic. What does the 15 mean and what head is the 12H1326 from, not an MGA I thake it ? |

12H1326 is an early B head (w.o. air injectors) 15 heads are for a 1500 or 1600 engine only. The advantage of the 906 or 1326 heads is that you don't need eyebrows in the block |
