MG MGA - diff help
Hi All, I recently bought what I thought was Sprite 4.2 crown wheel and pinnion. It isnt. Its bigger and I wondered if it was any other type of MG. Stamped into the pinnion is 9 x38 CF 23 10 68 and the crown wheel MGG 5 10 68. The crown wheel has 8 bolt holes and is 6.8 inch in diameter. Does this ring a bell with any one. Many thanks. |

The sprite used a smaller axle of the same design as the , MGA, early mgb roadster and a number of other cars from the BMC stable. I don't recall there ever being a 4.3 ratio. There was a 3.9 for the B, a 4.1 for the A, and 4.3 was standard for the majority of MGAs. |

Siggi, as I understand it's the other thrust washer that's the problem as only the fibre one is available, B&G #ATB7072. |

As DC suggested. Standard MGA was 4:3 or 4:1on later cars |
