MG MGA - Distributor wear
When I rebuilt the car nearly 10 years ago I replaced the worn out distributor with a modern equivalent. I often go back and look at the old one, give it a wiggle, note the worn bushes and think about converting it to electronic. The other options are to send it away to be reconditioned or try to replace the bushes myself. I have a decent selection of reamers but have yet to find a supplier who will sell me bushes. Any thoughts on what to do? Anyone know where I can get the bushes? Steve |

Moss US sells the bushing for $109.00 US. Must be solid gold. You may want to dissassemble the unit and check the shaft also, it is supprising how much a bronze bushing can wear a steel shaft. You may also want to check with a local machine shop, they may be able to make it for you at a more reasonable price. |
