MG MGA - Dog Nut Torque
Is there a torque figure for tightening up the crank dog nut. Or just do it up as tight as you can with a wrench. |

Can't find this in the books at the moment. Can someone advise. The engine is back in the car after renewing the clutch. |

As long as you get the lock washer on good, I wouldn't think the torque would be critical. I just tightened mine until it felt really tight. Barney has a good page on getting the lock washer right. http://www.mgaguru.com/mgtech/engine/cs104.htm |

I can't fit a lock washer on mine - it's deep inside a custom pulley. I just put the car in gear, wind on the handbrake really hard, and get the torque wrench out and wind up as hard as I can. Last time I may have used some threadlock. |
