MG MGA - Done!
At noon on the first of August after thirty two years baking in the Arizona desert, my four year frame off restoration was completed and # 23979 rejoined the ranks of functioning MGA's. Thanks to so many for the expertise so freely shared. Doug |

That's fantastic. Did you have any hitches, setbacks or surprises during the final assy? Mine is painted and I'm assembling grille, wiring, wipers etc etc right now. How about some pics? Fred |

Wonderful news! Will you bring it to MG Day in Brookline this month? M.D. '57 Coupe |

MD, She'll be there! |

Fred, I'd modified the front extension for the factory design sway bar & needed to trim some material from the body tub in that area to get the tub all the way down. Additionally, on the advice of an experienced restorer, rather than force the right foreward cockpit mounting hole to align, I cut the web, thus preserving painstaken door alignment. |

I must say Doug did a first rate job on his MGA - I was the first to see it today and was blown away on the level of detail. I got a bigger kick out of the look on his face when he drove into my shop to show me the finished product, He looked like a little kid at Christmas....... I wish you many years of top down driving. mackay |

Congratulations Doug. I wish you many miles of enjoyment. |

Well done, it will probably have a few problems in a shake-down period, then you can drive the nuts off it! |

Way to go Doug! Another A saved and on the road again. Enjoy! My 57 A went back on the road a week or so ago after 30 years too. |

Sure wish we could post a photo on this site... I'm looking into a web page on my restoration. I took many detailed photos and collected hundreds due to the fact that mine came to me completely disassembled. Thanks for all the flowers. We'll be in Stowe VT. for the British Invasion. Thanks, Doug |

I had the pleasure of seeing this car yesterday. It looks as good in person as it does in the pics. Congratulations! |

Doug, the car is beautiful. Congratulations again. |

She's quite a looker Doug. I hope to see her in person at the MG show, if I can get my coupe running better by then. M.D. '57 Coupe |

What an experience it is to drive a virtually new MGA. She rides like she's on rails with none of the rattles and looseness remembered from my past high mileage MGA's. The five main MGB engine is startlingly loud coupled to a stainless Falcon MGA exhaust when you put your foot into it. It cruises with a much more satisfying note however. After installing the new top and allowing it to accomodate in the hot sun for a day, I re-acquainted myself with folding and stowing for the first time since '78...Still a PITA! Bruce, It was a pleasure to meet you Sunday. We be cruzin da blvd... Doug |

Doug, My son and I listened to the sound of the car when you drove out of the cruise parking lot last night. Neither of us thought the fact that the motor was not a stock 1500/1600 was detectable based on the sound you generated at that slow speed. |
