MG MGA - Engine ID?

I was told a year ago by the now deceased owner that the just purchased A had an 1800cc B motor in it. The engine ID plate is missing off of the head. Suggestions as to where to find casting or stamped numbers in the block or head to identify exactly what it is? Thanks, George

Below the carbs at the front of the engine there are normally large cast figures that give the approx engine size in cc
1800, 1622, 1600 or 1500 etc
