MG MGA - Engine rebuild in SE England
I have just purchased a second hand 1500 engine for re-build. Does anyone know a good company in the south east of england that can do the re-bore and the supply of pistons along with the re-grind of the crank and supply of shells? I will also want the head converted to lead free. Garreth Kent |

I have use Sutton Rebore (in Sutton 020 8642 3419) for my 1800 rebuild. I previously used a small outfit near Sevenoaks that I think was called Phoenix Engineering. He converted the head to unleaded and did some porting work. dan |

Pardon my ignorance of English geography, but I don't have an atlas handy. Have you considered Chris Betson at Octarine? I have no idea if he's anywhere near SE England. http://www.octarine-services.co.uk/ Regards, Joe |

I have had excellent service from Chris Betson of http://www.octarine-services.co.uk/ He built me a 1860 CC fast road engine and installed a 5 speed gearbox for me. The heads for the engines that Chris builds are from Peter Burgess. Chris pays attention to detail and is a dedicated MG enthusiast to boot. John |
