MG MGA - European Football Championship
Read to go, but only if we start winning the occasional game! Steve |
Steve Gyles |
Well we almost won Steve which for England isnt too bad a start! It looks just like you have fitted an English knights shield to your car. Im looking forward to seeing how you rig up a rest for your lance and a scabbard on there somewhere! Colyn |
Colyn Firth |
Colyn Just a trial fit at the moment. Going to fold the edges over and run the sewing machine along the edges to take a draw cord. Worried about being taken for National Front, BREXIT or football hooligan. Don't want any stone throwing! Steve |
Steve Gyles |
You are unlikely to need it on there for very long - not worth making too much effort with the sewing. |
Graeme Williams |
So Steve ,did you never get to fly a Short Crusader,or Vought even? |
M Blencowe |
G'day Steve, "unlikely to need it on there for very long" - well, I'm not so sure. Your Rugby team won on Saturday. Now, if your football team can kick as many goals, you'll be right! (lol) Regards Roger |
R Taylor |
Roger Im a bit surprised that the Aussie football team isnt in the European Championships this year! Afteral, you guys absolutely trashed us in the Eurovision Song Contest! :-) Colyn |
Colyn Firth |
Colyn, Unfortunately Euro song contests are about the best we have at the moment. Our football team struggles at the top levels. Better in other codes and cricket might come back to us - some distance to be covered yet though. I do think though your football team is better than it is often given credit for. The top level in that code is very tough. By the way, if I were Steve I think I'd have a stone/bottle screen around the car - I've been watching the Russian fan reactions on TV! Regards Roger |
R Taylor |
Roger I have done further modifications to the car in case I have to vacate quickly in the event of unruly Russian immigrants hurling stones and abuse. Steve |
Steve Gyles |
Steve, I received the following email from a mate of mine re tickets to Euro 2016 - any takers in the Old Dart! "I have two tickets for the final of Euro 2016 but I didn't realise it will be on the same day as my wedding using wedding cars sevenoaks...so I can't go.. If you are interested and want to go instead of me.... It's at the St Andrews church in Brighton, the girl is called Sarah." Mike |
Mike Ellsmore |
Steve, Love that! Though down here it would be too much of a temptation to a football crowd. To add some gravitas, perhaps a parachute strapped to the seat back? Have a great trip and enjoy your footy. Regards Roger Mike, priceless!!! |
R Taylor |
Steve, I've just caught the latest news coverage from France. Perhaps consider scrapping the 'A' plan and take a tank? |
R Taylor |
Your fans can't even beat the Russian fans. |
A Bowie |
I think I must have confused you all. I am not going to France with the MGA. I don't have any spares packed up for travelling abroad! A lot of cars are driving round the local roads with national flags flying out of the windows so I thought I would do something similar with the A. However, even in rural England there are more Polish, Spanish and French flags flying than our St Georges. I guess all our fanatical fans who would normally join in with this kind of display are in France causing mayhem. Steve |
Steve Gyles |
"...causing mayhem" That's what they did out here. Then we took over in 1901 and sorted things out. (lol) But full marks for flying your St George. A win over Wales last night. Ireland also had a win. Roger |
R Taylor |
Sewing machine on duty tonight. I will wait until we are definitely in the knock out stages before giving it an airing. I could not understand why it took the Manager until the second half of the second game to bring on the Premier League's highest scoring and most effective forward of the season. It was not an inspirational substitution, it was just plain dumb not to have started with him from game 1. Steve |
Steve Gyles |
Steve Rare for me to be able to correct you but he took off the Premier League's highest scoring forward of the season. Harry Kane scored one more than Jamie Vardy last year. |
