MG MGA - First 500
Wow, The first five hundred miles were a blast. I had to deal with the rear hub seals on both sides. I whipped the paper gaskets out & used silicone gaslet goo in their place and this solved the problem. I can't get over how the engine just gets stronger during break-in. The Sierra five speed conversion is just perfect. I was prepared to replace the stock rear end gearing with a 'B 3.9 pumpkin, but I'm having second thoughts. The only remaining gremlis are the fuel gage & various minor fluid leaks. It's quite an experience to drive off in what is essentially a showroom new MGA...No rattles, buzzes, klunks, just classic zoom-zoom! Cool... Doug |
