MG MGA - Fog / driving light alignment
I mounted a pair of driving lights on my car during the winter (bought the brackets and lights for a VERY reasonable price at Silverstone last year - it's amazing how prices fall when the rain starts!) Having finally wored them up as well, they seem to be pointing at Venus. What is the "correct" way of adjusting the beams downwards, do I just have to apply suitable leverage at strategic points to bend things towards earth? |

Dominic Are you talking about the correct SLR/SFT576 spot/fog lamps? Just been to look at mine, unscrewed one to see what adjustment there is. The Threaded shaft out of the light pivots within its fixed outer casing. The outer casing rests in a concave spacer allowing you to point the light as required. you then simply tighten up the inner shaft until all is clamped tight to the mounting bracket. Steve |

Adjust as Steve said, when I adjusted mine, I did it at night so I could adjust the beam down the road and then tightned the nut, I also covered the light I was not adjusting. |

Hi, Has anybody used Halogen bulbs in your Lucas driving lights ? Is the light output higher than the regular bulbs and is it worth while swapping ? I adjusted mine by trial and error, never thought about the way Jeff did it. Koen |
