MG MGA - Fog Lamp Bracket

I've given up trying to find an original fog/driving lamp bracket. None to be found it seems.
Do the Moss supplied fog lamp brackets interfere with the over riders? (Seems I heard that this was the case)

I have a set from Moss & they installed easily and did not interfere with the overriders. That being said, I bought these brackets some 15 years ago, so not sure about current stock.

This is the bracket that IIRC I bought from Moss (but it could have been from Abingdon Spares). It uses the bumper bolts and it does not interfere with the overriders. My bumper bolts were about 1/2" farther apart than the bracket so I have to use a bar clamp to squeeze the dumbirons to install the bracket. The bracket hole spacing match the specs in the WSM. I've since moved the badge from the grill to the lamp bracket.

Oops!! I forgot which forum I was in. As you can probably tell, that car is not an MGA.

George,
I have a pair of Moss fog light brackets that don't go anywhere near fitting. They were supplied a few years ago, so current supplies may be better but I would be checking for confirmation before purchasing any.

Good luck,

I've had a pair on my car, probably Moss, for about 20 years. They touch but do not foul the over-riders.

As an aside, I bought another pair about 5 years ago from Moss. They seemed identical. I fitted them on the back bumper to accommodate my winkers which I split out from the combined brake/winker assembly. On this occasion I did have to cut a chunk off the bracket to avoid fouling, but I can live with that.

Thanks all, I think I'll order one and return it if there's a problem fitting it.

George, You might be lucky with something suppled now. If you read the last part of this page, it suggests Moss were going to fix the issue: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/faulty/ft051.htm

My faulty brackets came from Scarborough Faire but had a Moss sticker on the bag.

Cecelia at Scarborough Faire is having some correct fog light brackets made. Not sure what her time line is for having them available.

I bought the Moss bracket, and yes, it does interfere with the over rider. I had to grind the edge of the over rider in the area of the bracket arm at least 1/8", probably a little more. Really doesn't look too bad.

Jim, Cecelia is kinda on hold with her brackets. Spoke with her a few months ago and the travel difficulties getting to the UK due to the pandemic (she was going to go herself with an original bracket to discuss with potential vendors) has curtailed her plans.
