E) 1 pair flexible brake hose (make sure the hose used is of suitable length and doesn't restrict wheel travel)

F) 1 pair front hub oil seals

G) tab washers (used on bolts holding caliper to bracket)

H) anti-seize compound (used on bolts holding caliper to bracket)

Instructions[1] (drum to disc conversion)

Removing The Drum Brakes

1. Loosen the wheel nut(s) on the wheel concerned, raise the front of the car so that the wheels are clear of the ground and remove the road wheel. Ensure that the handbrake is fully applied and that 1st or reverse gear is selected and that the car is well supported.

2. Unscrew and remove the two countersunk screws that retain the brake drum in position and remove the drum. It may be necessary to loosen off the brake adjustment to release the drum

3. Remove the grease cap from the hub using a suitable screwdriver as a lever, withdraw the split pin from the stub axle

4. Unscrew the hub nut (left-hand thread on left side, right-had thread on right side).

5. Remove the hub using a suitable puller.

6. Detach the tension springs and remove the brake shoes.

7. Remove the wheel cylinders. If you don’t intend in reusing the brake lines connected to the wheel cylinders in the future, cutting the lines will speed up removal.

8. Remove the backplate from the spindle.

9. Remove the flexible brake line.

Installing the Caliper Bracket and Rotors

10. Install the caliper bracket as shown in the pictures.

11. Fit a new oil seal to the hubs you will be using.

12. Attach the rotor to the hub.

13. Slide the rotor/hub assembly onto the stub axle and fasten the hub nut (remember left-hand thread on left side, right-had thread on right side).

14. Attach the MGB caliper, complete with brake pads, to the bracket. Use a tab washer on these bolts. Alternatively, the bolt heads can be drilled and safety wire used. If your using our caliper brackets, you’ll have to cut these bolts to the correct length with a hack saw. When using any aluminum caliper bracket, a quality anti-seize compound should be applied to the caliper mounting bolts to prevent galvanic corrosion.

15. Attach the flexible brake line to the caliper and then to the rigid brake line. Turn the steering to lock in each direction, ensuring that the flexible brake line will not restrict wheel travel.

16. Bleed the brake system.

17. Replace road wheel.
