MG MGA - Front end overhaul
I just got my restored original Armstrong shocks back from a total rebuild; mainly because of the pivoting shaft/body wear and subsequent oil leakage. I have a new offside engine mount, a gearbox mount and all the rubber bushes that make up the front suspension plus a new sump gasket I checked out uncle Barney's pages and would appreciate any hints, pitfalls and order of sequence before starting. Thanks in anticipation. |

Tony, I followed the manual and had no issues other then the frozen distance tubes in the lower trunion which in my case had to be pressed out. The new distance tubes may need to be machined to get correct tollerance. Other wise it is a straight forward process. John |

Tony, See Darian's thread on "replacing front suspension bushings" for my comments. Looks like you are both doing the same job this Christmas! Neil |

Thanks John - I'll look out for those rascally tubes; and Neil for referring me to Darian's thread. Have a great Xmas guys. |
