MG MGA - Fuel pump filter
This may be a very stupid question, but here goes... When removing the fuel pump filter for cleaning do you need to drain the fuel tank or can you just unscrew, clean and refit with a new washer? Thanks, Peter |

Peter - If the tank is full to the top, I would guess that removing the filter from the fuel pump in situ could empty the tank all over your garage floor. An easy to avoid this is to loosen the fuel line fitting where it attaches to the tank on the upper right end of the tank (I believe you would refer to that as the off side). The other option is to have a half full or less tank and jack the right side higher than the left. Cheers - Dave |
