MG MGA - fuel pump pipe positioning

I am ready to hook up the fuel pump. I looked at the Clausager book and he shows the fuel pipe that goes to the front of the car to come up to the fuel pump from the right hand side (Looking toward the rear of the car) My Haynes manual has a picture of an MGA fuel pump and it shows the pipe coming up from the left side (also looking toward the rear of the car) Which is correct??

Fuel pipe runs up the car from the same side as the filler pipe, fuel level sensor and fuel pump. That is the right hand side from the rear running forward. It comes up ito the engine compartment on the same side and then across the bulkhead in front of the heater to the carbs.

The same mounting brackets and metal loops that mount the wire loom, the battery cable and the fuel line are all together on the right side under the car. If you need pictures supply a e-mail address.

Thank you.
I seemed like there wasn't much room on the outside [looking right from the rear )

Sam is right- Clausager shows it on page 70, the picture has the fuel pipe coming up from the drive shaft side.. Does anyone know which way the inspectors at a concourse want it?
Carlos

Whatever you do decide, do not use the picture on p70 as a reference of factory installation. Definitely should not be big radius hand bent copper pipes like that! There's loads wrong with that car from a concourse perspective. It was just an "excellent rear axle view".
