MG MGA - Fuel Pump Question
Stupid question. In fact here is what I believe the answer is even before I ask it--Buy a new one. Now for the question. My SU fuel pump has that tiny little hose nipple on the bottom. What does it mean when the pump intermittently spits fuel out of it? It never used to do that, and it does not do it all the time. What is going on with it? Dennis, Arizona. |

Dennis - It means that you either get a new pump or send the rude pump you have to me to teach it some manners. The diaphragm is leaking and when enough fuel builds up behind it, it is expelled out the vent tube. See the article, SU Fuel Pump Services in the SU Fuel Pump Articles section of my web site at: http://homepages.donobi.net/sufuelpumps/ Cheers - Dave |
