MG MGA - Fuel pump vent
On my fuel pump there is a vent nozzle on the body, and a spare hole on the plastic cap. On Burlen's exploded view the cap appears to have a vent nozzle where this hole is on mine. Are these two locations supposed to be linked by a tube, to keep out wet and to balance the pulses on the coil side? |

Art - The hole in the end cover can be closed off with some RTV. The vent spigot should be routed to dry area in the car (it is routed into the trunk on the MGBs) or as high as possible under the car and secured with the open end pointing down. See the article, SU Fuel Pump Vent in the SU Fuel Pump Articles section of my web site at: http://homepages.donobi.net/sufuelpumps/ Cheers - Dave |
