MG MGA - Fuel pump wire post (tab)
There is a male tab (flat terminal that female should slide onto) on the top of the fuel pump. Which wire goes to this? I don't see it in the harness. Harley |

Hey Harley, I am thinking it grounds the pump and the wire would go directly to the frame/body and not be in the harness. Tom |

Harley - If the tab is on the power terminal (on the top of the plastic end cover) it is for power and should have a white wire. There should be another tab (or possibly just a short ground screw) on the flange of coil housing that gets the black ground wire. Cheers - Dave |

OK, the white wire is connected already to power terminal, so this must be for a ground. I will try to attach an image. HJ |

Here is image of the tab. white wire is on other end of pump and part of the harness.

And the other end, showing white wire. HJ |

Harley - Your pictures are so small, it is hard to see for sure what you have. You will need to use a multimeter set to read resistance and check the two wires. One of them should read 0 ohms to ground (should be black, but could be any color it a PO spliced something to the original wire). The white wire going to the power terminal should read 12 volts (multimeter set to read volts) when the ignition turned on. Cheers - Dave |

The power wire in the harness goes to the end of the pump on the terminal that holds the end peice on. The terminal on the side of the body is a ground wire that goes from the pump to the frame. |

Sorry about the small pictures. I seem to have problems loading pics that fit the frame. I will make a ground wire for that tab. Thanks, HJ |
