Expansion tanks are available from www.lawrenz.de - I understand he makes them for everyone that supplies them. He does speak english too. He also makes a lot of small engine parts for the TC, so a good place to try. I think he also has the oil pipes in his catalogue.

If you can supply stock photos of the specific parts you need, I'll look through my pile next weekend. I know I had the air filters. I sold them on eBay a few years ago. I had a TC engine, but it was sold to someone at Moss in the mid-80s. I don't remember what went with it, but it's possible additional external parts are still out in the barn. I'm afraid I won't recognize them without a picture and/or part numbers.

Thanks Kemper. I'll work on the photos next week. Please e-mail me direct, so I can e-mail you the photos.
Thanks again,

I got a few small bits and pieces for my TC from Jim Alcorn ( dipstick bracket and carb return spring brackets) He should be able to help you out with some of those pieces. On the Yahoo twin cam site i think there was a piece on how to make a twin cam dipstick from an MGB one. I will check into it for you if you like. Other than that just keep looking, it is amazing how and where these parts turn up.

good luck,

Found the info on the dipstick..............

Subject: Re: Twin Cam - Engine Oil Grades and continuing dipstick issues

Take a small flat washer and braze it onto the MGB dipstick such that the
distance from the bottom face of the new washer to the MAX mark on the
dipstick is about 5 7/16 or 5 1/2 inches. That's what it is on a stock Twin
Cam dipstick.

This will work if you have the stock Twin Cam dipstick tube that threads
into the alloy oil pan and has a height of 4 1/4 inches above the pan. The
washer on the dipstick will then sit on the top of the tube and the dipstick
will hang in the oil at the correct level.

The MIN mark is 1 inch below the MAX mark on the Twin Cam dipstick and the
end of the dipstick is 1/4 inch below the MIN mark.

As far as a dipstick--I don't have an original one. I'd like to
calibrate an MGB stick. Question is: How many US quarts does the car
take when refilling from empty to "max"? Sump capacity specs and
actual amounts differ on my MGB thus the question here. 7 1/2 quarts
seems like quite a bit.

Jim Alcorn had some original dipsticks and the dipstick tube is available from Vicky Brit. He may be able to fill many other items on your list. Remember--the cure for unobtaium is heavy coats of platinum! ie figure a grand for the radiator. Good luck with the restoration.

Don,

When looking for an oil pump drive spindle remember two things;
(1) You can't use one from a pushrod MGA because the gear teeth are cut at a different angle on the Twin Cam item, to match with a jackshaft that turns counter clockwise (viewed fom the front).
(2) Count the teeth on your jackshaft gear that drives the spindle, and read that article of mine that you have, or read the Workshop Manual. There are two versions of jackshaft and the oil pump drive spindle must be a matching type.

Don,

For the oil cooler pipes, you may still be able to get them from S Johnson.
Read Yahoo message 16903 or perhaps he can tell you where he got them from.
