I think he accidently put in an extra zero. $7500 sounds about right. Too bad he doesn't know that it isn't a midget. |

With just one picture a broken grill and? painted over fender welting? I'm not sure that even $7500.00 would bring a bid. But it is definitely the prettiest Midget ever. With those curvy lines you'd almost mistake it for an MGA. |

Misplaced decimal point or not, ditto what I said under the "How to polish a Turd" thread. Over the years I have seen many cars overpriced simply because the owner was, sadly, ignorant of the car's true value in its marketplace. Many sellers are not the enthusiast who owned it 10-15 yrs ago ~ they inherited the car, got it thru a divorce, or lost interest in the car when they discovered that it would take more education about the marque/car than they had time/or interest to do. Many I have talked to about a car for sale only know vaguely that "old cars" are valuable and maybe saw an Jackson Barret auction on the Discovery Channel and were thrilled by the incredible prices cars they saw cars as old as theirs were getting. To them, a 4-dr 57 Chevy Del Ray, was worth as much as a 2-dr Bel-Air with performance engine and fuel injection. And if they have never done a restoration or even known anyone who has, they don't seem to have an appreciation that adding those costs to the condition of what they have definitely affects the value. I usually leave when such owners prove unwilling to a suggestion that they go back and do their homework. |

I thought I heard that a lot of old MG ads used the term Midget to describe them -- both the T series and the A series.... |

Most M.G. cars were called Midgets through the T-Series. Cars made afterwards were not, until the modern Midget. Early exceptions were the saloons, race cars and a few others. |
