MG MGA - Green stuff brake pads for MGA
Anyone have any experience with EBC greenstuff brake pads ? I have not seen them listed for MGA w/disc brakes, only MGB.Are they available? Thanks John Coryea |

I put them on my '67 BGT. They worked fine, but don't grab as well as stock-type pads under normal driving conditions. However when I dive down a steep twisty canyon and heat them up, they are superbe and never fade. Since most of the driving in my GT is commuting and highway use, I took the EBC pads out and got a new set of stock pads. So if anyone wants a slightly used set of MGB EBC pads for half price, let me know. |

Hi, I fitted some to my 1600 Coupe and they were OK, no different to the standard pads. I've since fitted Austin Princess 4 pot calipers along with Greenstuff pads and they were not that good, they made a shushing noise when applied and seemed to hard, needing alot of pedal pressure, I changed them for a set of standard Ferodo pads which performed much better. EBC pads were designed for track use and are probably better regarding fading etc, you can't compare race car brakes to road car brakes. Terry |

Terry and all, Thanks for the input..I'll keep what I have, unless someone knows of a soft ,grippy pad for street use. All the best john coryea |

The GreenStuff pad is really a track pad and not suited well for street usage. Needs a fair amount of braking and heat to work well. I used them for a year in my vintage racer but would distroy a set in one weekend of racing. If for track use, Hawk Blue is the best on the market. |

I also have a nearly new set of Hawk Blue for sale to the highest bidder. :) |
