MG MGA - Head Casting Numbers

I have a 1600 head casting number 1H967 which is cracked. I have just acquired another head with the same casting number but the 15 cast on top at the back of the head is on the opposite side to my original. I am now curious about where the 15 on other heads is cast.

On my original the 15 is cast in the same side as the thermostat housing. On the one I have purchased which seems to be a goldseal head the 15 is cast on the other side of the head.

Can you let me know which side of your head has the 15 cast in it? Thermostat side or other. Does anyone have a knowledge of this.

My 16 sits on the right side of the head (seen from the driver).

Does Barney's site http://www.mgaguru.com/mgtech/engine/ch100.htm help you. Says "15" is at the back.
