MG MGA - Head id and valve seals

Went to look at the A thinking about which valve seals to get.

A PO put in a Metropolotian engine and a head with the markings 565394 and the normal twin carb set up.

Does anyone have information about the head, and which valve seals to use. I dont want to pull the head. Bad experience in another life

You could use the same ones as for MGA if the valve stem dia (.342") and the valve guide dia are the same (9/16"). If you have single valve springs there is more room for other types but these will work - FelPro SS70373 or Sealed Power 2001.
If it were me, I'd pull the head.

My reference book shows that all Met series II,III and 1500 (1954-1961) use the same guides as the MGA. Series I Mets (1953) use a different set of guides.

My reference book does not list the markings 565394.

As Art says, it is best to pull the head or at least the valve cover.
