MG MGA - Headers
Just exchanged a few e-mails with Kent Prather, 6 time SCCA Champ, and he had some good info. The Large Bore Maniflow header for the MGA is quite good and has a decent price. He say the car will rev to 7,500 RPM if the motor is modified. Only for SCCA do you need to have a header made that has three long tubes of equal length. The Maniflow Large Bore Header has the same size pipes as the Large Bore MGB Header. Good info at a good price! |

APT has two available one for "big bore" and another LCB type. Dave's explanation on the LCB header is interesting and is on his website APTfast.com. Moss makes a similar LCB header as well. From what I can tell, Maniflow, Moss and APT's headers are all pretty much the same. I've seen the MGA header from Moss installed on a TD and was very impressed with the workmanship. I hate buying things site unseen so I went with the Moss unit. When I get my engine back in and have it installed, I'll give a full report. |

I have the moss one's. They come in 3 peices. I always have trouble stretching the two end branches apart enough to fit them, but they fit a LHD car OK. There was another thread on this topic a few weeks ago also. <MARK> |
