They didn't have to make it Sooo ugly! Steve

Steve, I agree there. The question is, is it really an MGA? "rhrhrh"(Can of worms opening) I mean, it has a chevelle frame, chevy engine, VW windshield and on and on. The only MGA things I saw were the doors and grille.

LOL! Yeah Mike, I already had that thought when I saw that car this evening. It will be in the next round of "MG Horrors" updates. :) And to answer the question, no, it isn't a MGA. It's a hot rod based on a MGA.

Now that car took TALENT to make it as butt ugly as that in every respect!!!!!!!! Inside, outside, from the front AND from the rear. I am sure it is a head turner at all the car meets and probably quite a laugh generator also. ouch

Would I want it ..NO !! Do I like it ... No!! ..... but ..... giving credit where credit may be due ..... it is quite an ambious undertaking, appears to be quality workmanship, and assuming it is still titled as a 1960 MGA, it keeps one more (or at least part of it) on the road and out of the scrap yard. I'm not about to bid on it, for sure, but the price is certainly reasonable when you factor in the cost of the work that has been done. As for the usual disclaimers ... no it's not my car, no it's not my listing and no I don't know the owner. Just thought the other side needed some voice !! Mike 1960 MGA (a real one)

I wonder what the MGA to Bondo ratio is? That would be the pounds of genuine MGA divide by the pounds of body filler used to smooth everything. I doubt it's over 1. Still, an impressive effort although the end result does ot appeal to me. Regards, Bill

With all thoughts of butchering an MGA aside: Appears to have been done by someone with lots of mechanical skill and talented body work, with lots of attention to details but no artistic taste, with the result that the details don't work together. -Recess 2 bullet (lucas style) taillights into the rear panel getting rid of the ugly tail light assembly. -Get rid of the stuck on MGA grill and create a nicely shaped grill opening from the body panel without ornamentation. Make it open at the bottom and integrateed with the fender flares. -Reshape the square front corners of the body to a nice curve and a softer curve for the pointed fender flares. -M.S.
