MG MGA - high idle speed
Hi all last night when i came back from a spin i noticed the idle speed was at about 1200 as opposed to about 750 where it normally is, anyway i spent last night going through all the possiblities this morning when i looked in daylight it was obvious i had been "fiddling" and had moved one of the fuel bowls to a position where the nut on the throttle spring clamp was catching the body of the bowl and not fully closing so simple its easily missed i wonder how many other idle speed problems were caused by this gordon |

Gordon It must have been some spin with high G forces for the fuel bowl to move round while you were driving! Steve |

hi steve it must have been that last landing, i was fiddled checking mixtures just before last run and the bowls can swivel a bit gordon |

Gordon You are worse than me for fiddling! Let healthy engines purr, they all tell me. Steve |

Keep fiddling you two, it makes this site more fun! See Steve - remember we have that different weather down here, with them barometric changes and above freezing stuff - we just have to fiddle with carbies all the time... Carry on Pugh! Pete |
