MG MGA - Horn Sounds Anemic
Installed the High note horn and connected the wires from it to the harness wires. When testing, it sounds "anemic", no real horn tone. The horn was fine when I checked it on the bench, connected to a 6 amp battery charger. I had to use the battery charger again when testing it installed, since my battery is low and I didn't want to wait to charge it. The ignition switch was in the accessory position, fuel pump clicked fine. Could the problem be in the horn push button? George |

Not the horn button, as a connection is being made. The horn is not adjusted correctly. |

Why then, does it sound ok on the bench? |
George G. |
No idea, but I had the same issue and resetting the horn again got it working. |
Dominic Clancy |
OK, I will try that. Thanks |

How do you adjust the horn? Jim |
JL Cheatham |
using the nut and screw to adjust the contacts

if it bench tested ok, i would look into its ground in car, make sure it's grounded well. paul |

Paul, I think the horn ground is thru the horn button. |
