Mike, I would love to have a HRG head for the same reason that I would love to have a TwinCam, they both look amazing. But $4750 Australian converts to £2600 and, if you are looking for power, for another £1000, you could could buy a complete fast road tuned, 1950 cc MGB engine, which comes with a ported C/I head, Weber DCOE, tubular manifold which develops around 140 bhp. But I expect someone will still buy it, it isn't so easy to be sensible when it comes to MGAs! Colyn |

This HRG Derrington head is back on Ebay for sale, this time with Weber DCOE manifolds (last time it showed the 1 3/4" SU manifolds). Also combustion chamber size has been added 38.5 cc. Also when you read the fine print it appears that this is one of the Brown and Gammon commissioned reproductions. That may explain why it doesn't have a Derrington serial no. stamped on it. Does anyone know what year these B&G replicas were produced? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/174328124511 Mike |

Look at that exhaust port - "professionally flowed" ? - looks like a little dressing of the valve pocket but that divider and port walls haven't been touched. No clear view of the inlet ports. Even if all good, I'd not pay anywhere near that money for it! |
