MG MGA - ice blue tonneau

I know some time ago some one was looking for an Ice blue tonneau

Check E bay 141450938789 NOS ice blue tonneau

That Ebay item number should be:

The sale has ended with no bids.

At $550 asking price, I'm not surprised.

The only picture in which it looks like ice blue is the one of the underside. It's not a color that photographs well, but if it wasn't for that one picture, I'd say it was gray. And the close-up of the snap makes it look faded. Ice Blue fades to kind of a sea foam green color.

I also didn't think the tonneau was 'ice blue' and wondered whether it was 'light blue' instead, the colour used for the later iris blue cars. I suggested that maybe it was for the 1600 models especially as the cover did not have a discrete steering wheel pocket sewn in. Instead there was the gather and dart used for the later covers.
However, he replied saying that its BMC part number, AFH6573,shown in his photos is given in the 1500 SPL where it is described as an 'Ice blue cover'. In the 1600 SPL the blue cover part number is different. And I also found later from Clausager that the discrete wheel pocket disappeared six months before the start of the 1600 model. So it could be a late 1500 'ice blue' example.
The vendor also said that there was indeed a slight greenish tinge to the blue. For the 'light blue' Everflex there is no greenish hue at all......................Mike

Like I said, the color does not photograph well. It usually ends up looking kind of gray. I sent Barney a picture of my NOS Ice Blue tonneau cover, and it looks gray in the picture. In person it's a pale blue. If I could afford one, I'd take a picture with a MacBeth Color Checker and folks could try to dial in the right color themselves.
