MG MGA - Ignition System + Tacho

Hi All,

Am fitting an RVC tacho onto my A. The A has an Accuspark ignition system that has replaced the points.

I understand that the tacho is wired differently depending on whether the ignition system is a Pulse set up or a Non-Pulse set up.

I have spoken to Accuspark and they were no help really.

Does anyone have a similar set up and know the answer to this ..?

Two wires on back of tacho - there is a red wire to be connected to the CB (?) side of coil if its a non pulse system and a yellow wire that goes to the pulse output of ignition system if its obviously a pulse system.

Help...!

I am away on holiday just now and can't check this but from memory, the bullet connecter on the back of the RVC connect to the -ve CB terminal on the coil and the spade connecter is connected to a +ve supply.
(Don't forget that the RVC is from the -ve earth MGB )

If you search the word "RVC" in the archives, you will be able to check this out on a recent discussion.

Much as Colyn says. I have an RVC with an Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition. One wire to the distributor side of the coil and one to the power side of the ignition switch.
