MG MGA - installation of weber carburetor
Finally broke down and purchased a weber 32/36 car for my 1959 MGA. noticed that in installation package there is a heater type attachment on the bottom that connects to the radiator for heating of the fuel to help atomization. Wonder if this needs to be connected since heat in the engine compartment has never been a problem. Also any other tips for installation would be helpful. michael dvorkin |

The throttle cable installation can be a challenge. The SU cable is too short to install in the manner shown with the instructions that came with my Weber. I used a brake cable from a bicycle for several years and was never really happy with it. I finally went back to the SU cable in a pusher mode (the outer cable cover pushes the throttle lever with the inner cable fixed.) It works great in that configuration. My Weber did not come with the water attachment. I suspect that that might be for an automatic choke, but I will leave that to more experienced Weber folks. Other than the throttle cable problems, installation was easy. The car sure starts better as well. Good luck. Don |
