Deep pockets is an understatement Gordon. If it is that collectable it should be in the Heritage museum at Gaydon. I can't see anyone forking out that much - genuine Abingdon car or not. A standard coupe in that condition is not usually worth more than £8k - was Rivers Fletcher that notable an MG character to increase its value 10 fold ? - I think not - cheers Cam |

The car also appeared on the cover of the Rivers Fletcher book "MG past and present" (1st edition 1981). However it is much more interesting to read what Rivers himself had to say about it (page 212): "PRX14, originally registered by the works, was one of their show shop models originally with a 1500cc engine. Later this car was fitted with the first experimental 1600cc engine (numbered test engine C15GBUN4397). It was lent to various drivers such as Nancy Mitchell and Jack Sears for practice, but never raced or rallied. Some history, but nothing very important." I guess Rivers' words are the best description for this coupe....8^) Cheers, Nick, |
