MG MGA - Judson to Go
Just finished up installing a Judson on my Mk II. Everything started up fine, but of course it started to rain right when I finished up. Nice and clear today, so should get a chance to find out if I have more than a "normally aspirated" engine. One remaining concern is how close the blower pulley is to the RHD heater tube bracket that is spot welded to the frame. The engine kicked around quite a bit on startup and there are a couple of aluminum shavings that weren't there before. Should I take a grinder to the edge of the heater tube bracket, or is there a less destructive way to deal with this ? Thanks, Chuck Mosher |

I broke the weld loose and moved the tube back to clear the blower. Enjoy your new speed and pick-up in speed!!! |

I had to remove mine completely. This is stated in the instructions. I too plan to reinstall so it's a bit further forward. |

I had a Judson in an MGA coupe for awhile. Sort of equivalent to installing a stock MGB engine in place of the 1500/1600 in terms of result, buy you get better bragging rights with the blower! ;-) I finally removed and sold mine as it really isn't a serious performance item - an odd combination of some performance and some dress-up, but very neat in its own right as a period piece. Happy blowing! |
