Neil Old English White which was the colour it was when it left the factory. the previous owner had resprayed it Red. The OEW against the red interior is stunning (see attached photo. Prior to purchasing my MGA I looked at a Dove Grey car and was not taken by the colour - perhaps an indication as to why they are not many about? Peter

Thanks Peter, it's really beautiful, I have a 1600 Mk2 that I will restore next and that I plan to do OEW and red (originally OEW and black), but I may sell that one. I am currently driving an (origional) concours chariot red 1600 roadster and it, of course, looks superb. And I have to say that, although it is the most "common" colour, I have yet to see another one on the road outside club activities! I thought a really nice dove grey car would both "turn heads" and be somewhat special within our circles. Mick, thanks for the pic. Is it a good picture of a bad colour or a bad picture of a rare colour? Here's another picture that I think looks better. What do you reckon? OK, maybe that should be a rhetorical question - it's what I think that matters. Poor old dove grey! Oh, before I forget, Peter, it seems that there are two (possibly many more) red trim sets on the market, bright red and deep red. As I understand bright (poppy) red should be closest to original. Yours looks like the original colour, but which colour/supplier did you chose? Neil

Dennis: Below the screen where you type in these messages is the word Upload (underlined) under the words Upload a picture. Click on Upload. A screen will pop up. Click on browse. Browse through your computer, for me it is My Pictures. Choose the picture you want and highlight it. Once highlighted click on open. A screen will pop up. click on submit. and wait patiently. If the picture file you chose is large it may take a while. This is why you should shoot smaller size pictures if you mean to upload them. If you choose too large a file for the system it will tell you so. I am not sure of the limit here but this is the only MGA specific picture I had on this computer at home that is small enough to use. (not my car) It it 33 kb. The system rejected a 155kb picture. Some of my other pitures go up to a file size of over 10mb.

James, Yes, that's black. The interior will be red - it's the darker red that Moss sells for their seats & interior trim. I've attached a picture of one of the seats sitting in the chassis while it was being rebuilt. The white on the floorboards are just the patterns that I was using at the time. I'm getting anxious to drive it, but still have a lot to do. Larry

I'm learning how to let go... here is my daughter on her first solo drive in the 1500 that I have been working on for 15 years. She is on her way to Oxford to study this summer for month in a program for juniors and seniors (grades 11 and 12).

That's how it worked in my family. Dad had 3 kids, he bought 3 MGAs. Here is a picture of mine taken last year, before I started taking it down. I had left it stored in the small town of Cordova on Prince William Sound where I grew up, since 2001 when I moved to Anchorage. When I finally went back for it, I towed it to Anchorage using the same towbar my dad made for it 30 some years ago, and the same '73 Chevy truck he used to tow it in.

Gordon, Sure! I would in an instant but it would be a hard sell for my wife. The adoption would be a good excuse for another MGA. Not sure you would be as patient as my daughter who waited 15 years for hers. Del, Very cool! As a Dad I am hoping the joy of driving an A will soon be realized by my girl. It is extremely intimidating for her and until that first ding incredibly stressful. She is just now beginning to master the clutch. She gets better every day.

Hi Jim, I had the original bonnet that the PO had stretched from sandblasting,so I used that not wanting to waste a good one if it turned out I didn't like it. Putting the louvers in actually took the damage out! We had to temporarily take the cross supports off underneath for him to press the louvers in. I also only had them pressed in to a reduced height of about 1/4" instead of the full height. They look very nice from the drivers seat and subtle from out side. The photo shows what they look like. James I had my bonnet fluted earlier this year and would reverse the decision if I could now. The pressing causes the bonnet to flatten and the edges of the flutes look like ripples. If your bonnet is a good fit and in pristine condition, I would think hard and long before fluting it...... My feeling, Dave
