MG MGA - looks like a good one
Hi, this one looks nice, shame about chrome wires and repro front bumper and not sure if the grill is an early moss replacement, being really picky only because I would struggle to afford the Revell model one lol http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1957-mga/ |

That is a very high price for a US push rod car - $40,000. The most expensive ones I've ever seen on US Ebay have only hovered around $30,000 and one of those, three years ago, was a one owner from new (deceased) extremely original, very low mileage car, even with the original exhaust system! I wonder how much the Derrington head put on the car. I suspect that a lot of buyers, and even Concours judges from the looks of it, are swayed by glossy paint and shiny chrome without looking at, for example, the paint and carpet colours, steering wheel, radio, etc. Not to say it was not a nice car but not $40,000 nice.................Mike |

Would you rather have this car (which is fairly unique) or (just) another nuts and bolts restoration? I like the uniqueness myself and if given the choice between two I'd go for unique. |
