Gordon: wow on price! I thought it rough at Beaulieu last weekend when there were MGAs for sale at £35K and £30K. Both very nice OEW but suddenly even further out of reach. A deal was being done on the £30K car as I left. Due to fit your distributor shortly... should add at least £5K to the value?

Yes that's the Postles car as mentioned from the cover of Original MGA. Bob West was involved in the restoration and says that they were absolutely anal about tiny details. The price reflects the provenance as well as the standard of work. I believe it's over 20 years since the restoration, but probably only done concours shows since. So possibly it still is the best MGA, (in UK)) IF concours is your thing, but I'd rather drive it and it's definitely too expensive for that.

I bought a "multi concours winning MGA" in fact the one that won everything before this one entered the scene! I promptly covered the underside with waxoyl and used it as a daily driver! But then I paid less than a third of what they want for this one - even if it was a few years ago...

The attention to detail is truly impressive e.g. the restorer appears to have had the bonnet prop zinc plated and then sprayed black all over except for a couple of inches where it fits into the bonnet clip to avoid having the paint chipping off. Also they seem to have found a supplier for a rubber grommet for the end of the prop to prevent chips on the radiator top.
I'm not sure I agree that the hood is light blue though, it looks more like navy which is what the Clausager pictures show. ...............Mike

The one thing I have in common with that beautiful car is a grommet on the end of the prop. I used one from the bulkhead that I had left over.
