I have seen a rubber bumper mgb and midget but never before a wooden bumper mga! ( and hopefully never again!) It kind of goes against the grain!!! Sorry! Im sure its a beautiful piece of work and it has outlasted the rest of the car so maybe there is a cabinet maker out there who can construct the rest of the car to match! colyn |

I actually had a walnut bumper on an old Karmann Ghia just to meet the bumper requirement of my state. I didn't like it then, but it was a discussion starter. I would guess that the original factory MGA bumpers wouldn't meet any crash test requirement. |

This same set shows up on E-Bay every year or so. Either the owner hopes someone will pay too much or the last buyer realizes his mistake and is trying to get whole again. Reminds me of the all wood yugo "art" project.

These would look good with the wooden hardtop that can be seen here:http://www.jimpaul.tv/mga/humboldt.htm These are for sale by James Dean, who used to run a British auto repair facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I have talked to him a couple of years ago in regard to a different item, which was not what I needed. He claims to have a warehouse full of "rare" items, but this and other listings on Ebay never have produced a sale. Then again, "One man's trash is another man's treasure", or so the saying goes. |

James, am so loving that wooden roof, could do with a good oil though and then it'll be very smart looking..... Have been told that for Molegrips you can read Vise Grips ~ locking pliers...... Will no doubt have many an international translation problems =) Many thanks to all, bye'se for now, will keep you updated as to purchase..... |
