MG MGA - MGA 776 CLU

Another long shot(see Frogeye query on midget/Sprite forum).Anybody know what happened to my old MGA 776 CLU (in stunning(?) Alamo Beige)part exed for Alpine 17 YPE in Kings Lynn Jan '68? Thanks,Mose
MR Blencowe

According to the dvla it looks like it is still on the road but now painted white

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for 776 CLU are:

Date of Liability 03 02 2008
Date of First Registration 10 06 1961
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1588CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour WHITE

Thanks. The strange thing is,is the date of "liabilty" when it has to next be taxed? In which case, and it shows 03/02/2008,how can it be taxed for more than 1 year?Interesting. You very kindly helped on my Frogeye query but I got no result but with all the info you got on the MGA was I inputting correctly I wonder.I thought I followed it through right with the reg and make but came up "no record found".So,I guess it's gone to thet great srapyard in the sky.Unless I'm not doing it right.Mose

RJ How did you come by that information? I thought only the police could access the dvla database?

It's on the DVLA website: http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp and go to Vehicle Enquiry.

The information is as Malcolm says availiable to anyone on the dvla website and is very intersting and goes back a long way. I have succesfully checked details for cars my family owned in the 1960s.
The dvla wil not give details of vehicle ownership which will only be availiable to the Police etc.
MR I noticed the liability date being over 12 months too. Perhaps this is SRON date? Im sure someone will know!

MR
I came up with the same result as you with your frogeye. Either the numberplate has been transferred and it has been reregistered or the car has "disapeared" without trace!
