MG MGA - MGA BROUCHURE

My cousin was clearing out his collection of old car literature and gave me a brouchure of early MGA's. Though it does not indicate any year, it is great to see some original automotive adverts of the day. I can only guess the brochure is no later than 1959 or 1960 as the tail lamps are not of the elongated horizontal oval design. Gotta love the clothing of the day!!

What does the brochure say on the cover?

Actually the brochure is a 17"x22" sheet of gloss quality paper, printed both sides and folded in quarters to 8-1/2"x11" On the "cover" there is a partial picture of an MGA in turquoise with a woman in a black dress, white gloves, hair in a bun with "cat's eyes" sunglasses. It reads THE MG SERIES MGA. Upper right reads publication No. E5812. Perhaps it decodes to 1958, December. E could mean some internal code.

Opening the the brochure to the 8-1/2"x 22 length, there is a large picture of a red MGA with a fellow seated behind the wheel smoking a pipe, wearing a tweed golf cap, a white ascot, sunglasses and a brown sports jacket. Seated on the upper deck with her feet on the seat cushion is a brunette wearing a dress that appears to fashioned from a floor to ceiling drape. Upper right hand corner is a picture of a black MGA with a white top in an autumn setting and a couple standing on the far side of the car.

Opening the brochure to the full 17"x 22" depicts the top half with a white MGA, same fellow w/out the hat, pipe and sunglasses speaking with a lady seated in the car but no floor to ceiling drape dress. The lower half has pictures of the chassis, engine and transmission, cockpit depicting the functions of all the knobs and buttons and on the far right is the car's specs, length, width, etc. as well as the options list.

The upper left has a picture of a white MGA coupe with a lady in a black dress not fashioned from a floor to ceiling drape - oh yes red high heel shoes and lipstick to match her shoes.
