MG MGA - MGA distributor recurve info
After weeks of distractions, here is a link to my distributor recurve info. http://home.comcast.net/~eastmanb1/Distributor_work/Dizzytest_simple1.htm It shows the difference between early/late MGA advance mechanisms and the test machines I rigged up. I've also included an Excel sheet I used for sizing springs and a Shockwave video of a test. Hope this is useful. No guarantees on accuraccy or safety- it worked for me, my car runs better, and I lived. BTW- I don't check my home email much so please don't take a non/response personally. Bill |

Bill, Nicely done. Very impressive. After such a serious investment of time, you probably have the best understanding there is of the distributor spring system. Do you have a recommendation for a source of replacement springs to rebuild MGA and MGB distributors ? |

Bill, That's amazing stuff, well done. I would love to see the twin cam distributor on that map of your also. This and the mini cooper S one were recommended Special tuning upgrades at the time. I have one (TC 40718) sitting in a box, but unfortunately it's on the other side of the world at the moment. As the other Bill mention's though, a recommended set of replacements springs is what where all after though. Can I link to your site on my site also please as this is great reference material. http://freespace.virgin.net/marka.hester/RaceStuff.htm Cheers <MARK> |
