MG MGA - MGA goes today

Hi all sad day MGA leaves me today will be missed a lot as will it's tool kit lol, I tried offering the wife for the same money complete with her tool kit but the guy didn't seem quite so keen for some reason, although her bodywork isn't quite so good , her panel gaps are not so even and you can see a few bulges where some bodywork needs doing and the upholstery is sagging a bit would make a good everyday runabout for someone all offers to........ only joking dear if you read this lol , Frogeye arrives in a couple of weeks cheaper than new wife

Frogeye looks fantastic Gordon.

What about its toolkit?
Neil McGurk

Gordon, Interested party desires pictures and specifications on wife. Does she come with any spares?
James Johanski

Hi james thank god she is a one off and no spares available , she would fall more into a commercial vehicle slot really and would required a heavy goods vehicle license to operate
I really will be looking for alternative accommodation if she reads this thread I hope some of you have got spare rooms

Gordon, plenty of room - even got a garage for the Frogeye! (Mind you, after you've been thrown out you can have a Twin Cam!)
Neil McGurk

Hi Neil, can I bring my tool kits

gordon

We will of course be expecting a full report on the Frogeye.
Malcolm Asquith

Gordon, we'll be looking for you on the Spridget board. Careful what you say about the wife, you may find a King Dick jack handle imbedded in your skull. ;-)
Bill Young

Hi Bill , I'd be morry worried where she would put the Sutty pump lol

Gordon, I thought your tools would be OK but my insurance broker was a bit iffy.
Neil McGurk

Sorry to see you sell your A. I loved the the discussion comparing the benefits of the A versus your wife. I agree, you should keep that thread well hidden- a heavy goods license needed to operate!-really. If you were my husband and I read that, lets just say you might be singing in higher octaves.

A Frogeye, hmmm, somehow an MGA just sounds a little classier, more refined. But a man's got to do what a man's got to do. Good luck with the Frog and maybe I'll see you on my next trip over.

Jacqueline Peabody

Hi Jackie I get led astray by the crowd on here so as you say I 'll keep quite for a while

Good luck with your Frogeye - I just missed buying one 40 years ago and having missed it bought a 1961 Mk1 midget instead for about the same money (£310) - and I've been with MG ever since.
Cam Cunningham

Hi Cam, thanks for that, one day I shall return, hopefully with a Twin Cam , your parents didn't name you after an MGA did they lol

Gordon

What Shelley Jack do you need for the Frogeye? We need to get a few in from car boots in the very near future before James zeroes in and buys up the world's supply! Also any clues on other tools?

Nice looking car. When I was a young lad I always liked its looks and thought about getting one, but it was too expensive.

Gorden,

Nice Frogeye, I had one for a while used it evryday for work in the 1970's reced it at weekends and even went camping in Cornwall with it.

Used to ifnd it very amusing asking someone to put something in the boot, and then watch while they tried to find a way in.

Regards...John
J Bray

Hi John I hope it is as good in the flesh as in the pics lol

Hi Steve, the frog only had a side entry type of jack had a sticky out floppy piece that went into a hole in the sill will find out make and let you know , at least the tool kit is smaller than the A's

Hi Gordon, My name has given many a person a laugh - I also answer to camshaft as well as twin cam ! The jack on the Mk1 Midget was the same as the Frogeye I suspect - and would you believe it - I still have the jack handle somewhere ( which is marked King Dick you will be glad to hear!)- cheers Cam (not a twin)

Gordon

Just made my first venture across to the Frogeye forum. Very amused to see your toolkit legend has gone has gone with you!

Your first Midget jack on Ebay. Is it the same for a Frogeye?
