hi is anyone near Desborough and might be able to look at a car for me

Bit far from me, but does look like a good car. It is correct in many details that other cars are not, so if it's solid bodily and sound mechanically it should be a good buy.

Judging from the amount of questions there is a lot of interest so I suspect it will end up near the 12,000 mark.

Hi all betwix and between at present, might be going for a very original, one owner frogeye that's come up localy or a cheaper MGA maybe a coupe that one on ebay will probably go for more than I want to pay at the moment, I did nearly buy a roadster near me during the week almost 95% completely restored just needed finishing seats etc but without somewhere with enough space to do it myself I could see that the cost of getting it back on the road might escilate and I would be no better off

Hi Neil, it does look very well and accuratley done when you look under the bonnet etc everything seems to be in place and the right bit for the 1600

A couple of minor picking points: The valve cover vent fitting and hose are wrong, and it appears to have a 1500 type wheel on right front (all easily fixed).

Hi Barney thanks for that

Another concern. 29 years since the "full professional rebuild", no mention of what it has been doing for the last 15 years, and no pictures of the underside. The engine bay looks good, but it does not specifically say that the body was ever off or that it was ever repainted underneath. By real world experience, if the body sills are still original, and/or it was never treated inside the sills (29 years ago), then by now it could be significantly rusty in the body sills. This begs at least a few more questions to the seller, and definitely a first hand inspection before getting into the "serious" bidding territory.

Hi Barney have spoken to the chao selling the car, the body was off during it's rebuild and the chassis has no patches etc and is all solid, car was in storage for a long time, think it's going to go out of my current, limited, budget
