MG MGA - MGA Project for $10,000?!?

Take a look:

I think I have to sell my cars. I'm rich and don't even know it.
Mike Parker

Mike if you were a self proclaimed expert, you'd be richer than you could imagine ;)
gary starr

I know. That's what got the big bucks, I bet you. Self proclaimed experts are a real rarity...
Mike Parker

Don't forget, the Judson is not included but can be purchased for a mere $1,600 additional.

At first I thought it was more - a $4,000 car plus $6,000 for the supercharger.

I'm shocked he has one bid, probably his brother 'priming the pump'.

Some people are real dreamers. Did you see the red MGBGT that is in about the same state of repair. This guy has 22,000.00 invested. People get in way over there head and can't get out.
GK George

Gee, it may well be that the $1,000.00 project MGA is getting very hard to find.
David Werblow

Almost fell off my chair when I read the first sentence...."Restoration project nearly complete." LOL!
G Goeppner

I know its a lot of money but how much do you think it will cost to finish - £8,000 ish?? Trade prices for MGA's in the UK seem to have spiraled and there are plenty of examples in the region of £20,000 to £30,000 so finished it could still make sense cost wise as long as you believe that buyers are paying these high asking prices. Its difficult to know with some trade/garages since the price is often aimed at 'hyping up' the market.
J H Cole

He's probably trying to recover his cash investment at this time. And yes, maybe it's worth it, but I'd sure want to look at it up close to determine the quality of the work done. Still a long way to go however.

+1 George

You folks like this one better? Still over priced to me.

Garage kept, too. Check out the are where the rockers used to be.
Bill Haglan

The big "IF" is whether the parts are all there, whether the repairs were done to professional level, and what has been hidden. I've seen many 'expert' repairs that I wanted to rip out and redo.
Gary, self proclaimed experts rarely are, and word of mouth kudos are better given by others, I always thought. Dave, that garage kept beauty looks just like mine did when I got it, even down to the mouse droppings, etc. Bill, I think the garage was missing a floor.
Mike Parker

And when I told him the car was overpriced now, with or without the Judson, his response was:

"One sold just like it for 15000. last week. There is a lot of new parts and car is going up and up in value. Besides you don't have to buy it."

And I won't...
Gene Gillam

"This frame up has no expense spared". Did anyone notice the rusty fastners used in the chassis shot, such attention to detail. I'll bet the body plant pre rusted the body panels too. Also check out the hose clamps on the rack---

People like these two guys watch too many auctions on TV. $3,400 bid for that POS and the reserve is not met? Don't know what kind of drugs these guys are using, but I need some of that....

G T Foster

I paid $1,000 for mine and it didn't have near the rust. Of course, i had to drop another $100 for an engine, but for that price and the reserve not met on the second car, it's way overpriced.
