MG MGA - MGB pedal box in an MGA Coupe
Hi All.
I want to change the combined MGA master cylinder this winter as it seems to be a bit weepy. I have An MGB pedal box which I would like to fit with separate clutch and master cylinders. I also have a1500 MG midget tandem master cylinder which should fit the B pedal box. This would then give me a split braking system which could also be a good upgrade. Any body fitted the B pedal box? I couldn't find and good pictures of a Twin cam or Deluxe pedal box to compare with my B one as they have separate cylinders. Any help or comments please. Thanks. |

I suspect the lack of response answers your question . MGAGuru would be helpful. |

A friend out the road put a MGB pedal box in his A, I think it was fairly straight forward but if I remember correctly he had to use the MGB pedals as well and there was an issue of some sort with the boltholes which meant using some sort of adapter plate between the bottom of the pedal box and the body to cover everything, and I 'think' there was some sort of issue with the front boltholes
I hadn't answered earlier because I haven't got the full story--Should see him in the next few days and I'll ask--see if I can get a pic or two willy |

Better to fabricate a new box that takes the original pedals but allows a separate clutch master to be fitted. Then there are any number of brake masters you can use, including tandem ones. Mine uses a pair of brake masters but no need for that on the street. The clutch aster is tucked under the bonnet surround and the reservoir is a TR3 item as are the twin masters. For street use, a single master with integral reservoir would do for brakes - e.g. TR4. |
