MG MGA - Mk1 - Deluxe
Quite an interesting car (I have no connection with car or owner) https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1960-mga-1600-mk1-deluxe-roadster |

A beautiful looking car John,
if I didn't already have an MGA, I would be very tempted. If only to have all-round self adjusting disc-brakes, (I have almost given up on trying to equalise the rear drum brakes on my MGA). The only thing that puts me off this deluxe is the glass fibre wings, I had grp wings on a coupe I used to own which had a very wavy surface to them. Also, I wonder what the two extra holes on either side of the rear tonneau were for, just behind the seats? (they have chrome plugs in them now) Cheers Colyn |

I presume the extra holes were probably for fitting seat belts. I have seen a couple of late cars which have a bracket on the chassis and centre tunnel for simple lap belts so another bracket on the rear scuttle with a quick release attachment would allow 3 point seat belts with use of the hood. |

Nice car - how about a sweep stake? What do you think it will go for? |

I'll start it off Graham If as stated it has a close ratio gearbox, In the current climate where prices appear to have softened a little, I would expect the car to achieve £27,135 even with glass fibre wings. |

My guess is that it will be in the low £30,000 range, (Say £32k ) , even allowing for grp wings. Colyn |

I will jump between you and go for £30,000 |

Wow! That is unreal! |

Looks like Colyn was closest as the car sold for £33,250 plus 6% buyers premium. |
