MG MGA - Moss' Products not fitting

I'm having less and less luck with Moss MGA parts fitting properly. Bought new headlights, buckets, adjusters, chorme rings... the works. Well. the chrome rims won't fit!!! They are too small. There is just no way they will go over the So far... Moss MGB parts are working, but for the MGA, they may have selected a sloppy re-manufacturer. Anyone else with headlight troubles with the Moss product? Or maybe I just don't know what I am doing?

I had the same problem several years ago. New chrome rings would not fit my original headlight assemblys. I sent them back and polished up the old ones. It would seem that Moss is still using the same parts. Has anyone been able to make them work?
Ed Bell

Even the old rims wouldn't fit on my new headlights. The bucket, over which the rim is supposed to clip is too big.

When I did this earlier this year with Moss parts I was able to get them to fit. It was a struggle, but it did eventually fit. I guess I was lucky.

I have been having the same luck with some of Moss's parts. Generally they are ok, but alot of the small bits just don't seem to fit. The latest was a new centre piece for my steering wheel, it was about an 1/8th of an inch too small in diameter, which is alot when it is supposed to be a friction fit................

I too had problems getting Moss Winpac Halogen lights to fit after replacing the outer rings.
It was a while ago now and I wrote down this note.
Note 17H5295 wont fit WinPac headlights.

If you think the part is faulty, then perhaps send the details to Barney.

Then do as I have in the past send Moss the link. They are usually good at fixing the problem, with a little encouragement.

Hi Mitch. I just wrapped duct tape around the circumference of the center piece until it WAS a friction fit. This worked fine for me. Cheers! GLenn

The steering wheel center piece is supposed to be loose. There are Tinnerman type metal clips to secure it.

I've had my issues with Moss in the past. To their credit, though, if there is a problem they will set it right or refund the cost of thepart.

Well, as they say "you learn something new every day" I went back to my centre piece and took off the black tape ( i thought it was a better colour match than duct tape )
I dug out the old centre piece and found that yes indeed there are 4 spring clips on there, so a quick swap of the parts, and all is good with the steering wheel once again.
